It bothers me when people listen to a lot of music or genres just to say they listen to a lot of music.
the other day an acquaintance of mine let me choose music on her ipod for the car ride. She seems to think we bond over music (which we don’t, but because we have similar taste, she thinks we are “besties”) and there were so many bands I liked and said, “Oh, you like (fill in band here)?!” and she would respond, “Who is that? I don’t know half the stuff I put on there, I just put whatever band sounds good but never listen to it.”

I mean I’m all for putting new music in your library to be exposed to new things because you may end up discovering something you love that you never would have thought. but seriously. she only puts music on her ipod to have a lot of music and say she has a “broad taste”.

the battle between your favorite band making you incredibly happy and incredibly sad.
Sometimes it’s really hard for me to listen to music when I study or try to do homework because I always end up creating really epic music videos or movie trailers in my head that go along with the music and then I get distracted and don’t realize how much time I have just spent daydreaming and I get no work done, do you see my problem.
